Dizziness and Vestibular Rehabilitation
Identifying the cause of a person's dizziness is important because it allows the appropriate treatment to be provided.
We use infrared oculography goggles (video Frenzel goggles) as part of our thorough examination for these conditions. Goggles are essential for identifying many vestibular-related conditions. If further investigation is needed, we can help your doctor with recommendations for referrals.
Dizziness related to the inner ear, or some parts of the brain, can often be significantly improved with Vestibular and Balance Rehabilitation Therapy (VBRT). In some cases, vertigo can be fully resolved within two or three sessions; other Vestibular conditions take longer to rehabilitate or may become an ongoing issue that we can help clients learn to manage. Visit our What is Vestibular? page for more information.
We can also help with some non-vestibular types of dizziness such as Cervicogenic (Neck-related) Dizziness and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
Sometimes VBRT alone is not enough, or might not be the best choice for a patient. We look at our patients as a whole person, taking a "team" approach with you and your other healthcare providers, to ensure you get the best results possible.
